Banasthali Vidyapith is a fully residential women's university offering education from primary to Ph.D. levels. Established on October 6, 1935, by Smt. Ratan Shastri and Pandit Hiralal Shastri in memory of their daughter Shantabai, Banasthali emerged from personal loss and transformed into a national center for women’s education.
One of the five exclusive women’s universities in India, Banasthali promotes holistic development through its Five-fold Educational Programme (Panchmukhi Shiksha): Physical, Practical, Aesthetic, Moral, and Intellectual. The rural setting encourages simple living, self-reliance, and leadership.
With autonomy under deemed university status, Banasthali offers a wide range of innovative courses, from traditional subjects to advanced research. It holds an ‘A’ Grade (Five Star Rating) from NAAC and received the SANTBAL Award (2000) for its contribution to women's education.
